All-natural people can’t discern the things of the Spirit (1 Cor. 2:14). If we remain all-natural, we’ll perish. We need an additive; we need to be supernatural. We need some preservative (Eph. 5:18). God calls us to do things that a natural man can’t do e.g., love our enemies, turn the other cheek, bless those who curse you, don’t return insult for insult but a blessing instead, forgive seventy times seven. There are many more items that could be added to this “to-do list.” He doesn’t want us to simply give natural responses, He requires supernatural responses. He requires them at our house, with our spouses, with our children, with our parents, and with all the rest of our neighbors. He requires them all the time, everywhere.
